Celebrate the New Year in Style with Edmonton’s Exciting NYE Festivities at Churchill Square

Get ready to ring in the new year with a bang at the City of Edmonton’s New Year’s Eve celebration at Sir Winston Churchill Square! This year’s festivities will feature fireworks shows at 8:30 p.m. and midnight, as well as live music, fire performances, art installations, and skating. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m., so don’t be late!

Please be aware that there will be some road and sidewalk closures in the area starting before the event until around 2 a.m. on January 1st. The full closure of 103A Avenue from 100 Street to 99 Street will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the full closure of 99 Street from 102 Avenue to 103A Avenue (including the bike lane), as well as the full closure of 100 Street from 102 Avenue to 103A Avenue and the full closure of 103A Avenue from 97 Street to 101 Street, will begin at 5 p.m. Sidewalk closures will include the east and west sidewalks of 99 Street between 103A Avenue and 103 Avenue, the east and west sidewalks of 100 Street between 103A Avenue and 103 Avenue, and the north and south sidewalks of 103A Avenue between 97 Street and 101 Street. The CN bus loop (99 Street between 99 Street and 100 Street) will also be closed. Pedestrians wishing to access the Stanley A. Milner Library Parkade during this time should use the underground pedway system.

Transit will be free starting at 6 p.m. on December 31st until around 3 a.m. on January 1st, so be sure to take advantage of this convenient option. The City Hall Parkade will be closed at 5 p.m. on December 31st, so be sure to park in the Canada Place Parkade or the Stanley A. Milner Library Parkade.
